Encounter of the furry kind

During tummy time today, the resident furry friends came to visit Aidan.

Aidan tried to lift the rattle with his little hands with little success. However, he discover that the rattle make sounds when it's moved. Little Aidan got very excited with the sound.

After tummy time, Aidan made his first trip to por por and ah kong's house in his new jacket.

Aidan's big day out

Aidan had his 2 week check up today at the Littlecroft Family Centre. He has put on 190g, weighing at 3.02kg. Also grown 3cm in body length and 1cm in his head circumference.

After the check up, Aidan made his debut at Chadstone Shopping Centre.

First stop was Pumpkin Patch, where he snubbed a cute little hoodie jacket with ears. Unfortunately, mum had forgotten to take photos of it and dad had chucked it in the wash. Second stop was at Toys R Us, items picked up were bathing towels in frog and ducky, a laundry hamper, stretch mark cream (for mum of course), a change mat and a thermal bag.

Little munchkin and the 40 degree bath

After 3 baths of crying and screaming, we finally got the water temperature right. It's not 38 degrees like what the book says, nor 39 degrees but 40 degrees. 40 degrees makes Aidan a happy boy.

I am a rock star........

You like my 阿伯 comb over?

Trying to look cool

I am Ultra Man..

Although the bath was enjoyable, little munchkin decided to pee on his towel after he was taken out of the bath. He then had the pleasure of being bathed again. However, the second time around wasn't as much fun.

Let me out please.. I don't want to play anymore!

My name is Aidan and I am 8 days old

Arrival of the Gnome....

After 16 hours of labour pain, the little gnome by the name of Aidan, weighed 3.06kg arrived on Wednesday 4/6/2008, one week ahead of his estimated arrival date. His loud cry had assured me his safe arrival.

My day had started off with an exam at uni. Aidan must have been over stimulated from the exam that he wanted to come out early. Around about 1am on Wednesday morning, I came to the realisation that I was in labour even though my water hasn't broke yet. By 11am I was 2cm dilated but the pain was still manageable, so I went home to rest. At 3pm in the afternoon, the contraction became quite painful and the water still hasn't broke yet. Although, we arrived at the hospital 10 mins later, I was already 7cm dilated. By the time the anaesthetist had arrived, Aidan was ready to come out and I was told, no drugs required and please start pushing.

When Aidan was first placed in my arms, there was an sensation of disconnectedness. I didn't really know who he was but yet at the same time he lived inside me for almost 10 months. Apart from that, I think I was overwhelmed by the whole birthing experience and also possibly suffered some shock.
After feeding Aidan for the first time, I was filled with so much love towards this little bundle of joy. The first night after delivery, I was so fascinated and transfixed by this tiny human. Even though sleep deprivation was on the highest level, I still couldn't help myself but to stare at my son and thinking this is by far the best achievement ever in my life and the proudest thing I've ever done so far.

With all my love....

To my husband: Thank you for giving me such a precious gift
and thank you for always being there with me.

To my son: I look forward to accompanying you in your wonderful journey of life and thank you for bringing me so much joy.
