Newest family member

This morning, while opening the blind, Col saw a cat wondering through our backyard. So, I ran to the window and hissed at the cat while Col watched me bewilderedly. You may wonder why I would do such a thing? I have absolutely no idea, apart from the fact that we own two cats and seeing them hissing at other animals is a norm, so.. umm.. I immediately did what they would normally do (ok ok.. I am slightly nuts and yes, I am officially a crazy cat lady!).
Anyway.... before we left our house, Col discovered the cat was sitting outside our garage door in the bushes in our front yard. The cat is obviously a stray and is extremely hungry, so we fed it some food. During our outing, we have decided to name it JD for Jane or John Doe and if JD is still there after we get home, we will take the poor cat down to the vet for a check up to make sure its health is in order. JD appeared to have been involved in a fight and is quite scruffy.

When we returned home, JD was still sitting in the same place in front of the garage. So, we have decided we will adopt it and it will be an outdoor cat provided that its not a lost cat. Poor JD was still hungry and came into our garage to raid an empty bag of dry cat food. We ended up feeding JD 3 packets of wet food and left some dry food outside.

Fun at Ikea

We ventured into ikea in Victoria Gardens today in hope to find Aidan a side table. Col and I haven't been to ikea for a long time because for some reason we always end up having some major arguments when we are there. Hence, we think it's cursed and hence it was banned.
However, we lifted the ban today and went in with Aidan. The kids section had a lot of wonderful things (Before Aidan was born, we were obviously extremely oblivious to any kids products), they were cheap and very cute. We picked up 2 puppets, a moose and a duck. A hanging ceiling hot air balloon for Aidan's bedroom and an organiser for Aidan's closet. Then... we came across this bin full of soft toys and hat like things (we assumed they were hats...) and took some photos.

Christmas day........

I am almost 7 months old now and this was my first Chrismas with mamma and dadda. The day started off early in the morning. Mamma and dadda were running around excitedly. Santa Clause had come down the chimney over night and left some pressies for me!!!! He even left some pressies for Boss and Harry too. Mamma and dadda helped me open my pressies from Santa. He got me a helter skelter, a penguin slide and a tambourine turtle. Yippeee!

According to dadda, we spend every chrismas with my extended family and this year, it was at aunty Prim and uncle Nic's house. I didn't know I was part of such a big family. Great-grandma, grandma and grandpa were there. There were 5 great-aunts and uncles, 8 uncles and 8 aunts and 7 cousins.

There was alot of food. I still don't have my teeth yet so I could not have any of the yummy food. Dadda and mamma said that uncle Nic was a very good cook. All the other great aunts and aunties brought lots of food. There was also a chocolate fountain and lots of dessert. Maybe next Christmas I will be able to have some of the yummy food.

The best part of being in a big family was all the gift giving. The chrismas tree had so many pressies underneath it. Everyone was handing our pressies and everyone was receiving pressies. Everyone was so happy. Great-grandma must be so proud to have such a big and happy family. I was so lucky to get so many pressies. It was so much fun.

After a opening all the pressies, I changed into my new swimming costume my mamma got for me. This was my first time in a swimming pool. It was fun floating in the water with my sun glasses on and getting carried around by dadda and uncle Mark. I hope to get some swimming lessons soon.




We got home after a long long day. We opened the rest of the pressies and took photos of all the pressies. See me and dadda (hiding under the table) together with all the pressies. Thank you to everyone for making this such a memorable christmas and for all the pressies. I can't wait till next year.

The tree is up

I finally got off my lazy bum and put up the Christmas tree on the 11th. During the decoration process, Aidan was extremely excited to see all the glitzy baubles. He squealed and watched in delight.

A big thank-you to Aunty Juvan, Uncle David and Little Josh for organising such a lovely Christmas party at their home today. Aidan had a lot of fun even though he was quite grumpy throughout the first part of the party. Col and I had to take him outside and wheel him up and down Juvan's driveway in his pram, so he could fall asleep.

Aidan woke up 30 minutes later and joined in the fun with everyone else. Towards the end of the evening, Aidan received his first batch of Christmas presents that day, but all he was interested in was cards and wrapping paper.

Daddy's Birthday!!!!! Aidan爸 生日快樂！！

Aidan's dad turned 34 today!
The celebration began the night before, with a family night out at the drive in movies in Dandenong. The whole family watched Quantum of Solace from the comfort of our VW. Aidan behaved quite well with only a small amount of crying through the movie. Naturally our attention was devoted more to Aidan, which resulted in us having no idea what the movie was about after it had finished. After we came home, Aidan and I came up with a plan to divert Col's attention. This involved in Aidan and I looking extremely thirsty and asked for some water (actually I looked thirsty and repeatedly asked for water while Aidan just looked sleepy). When Col went to get some water for us, we went to pull out his presents from the secret hiding spot.
Aidan then surprised daddy with the presents.

My first passport 第一本戶照

With the holidays just around the corner, we have decided to apply for a passport for Aidan just in case we decide to go on a family holiday sometimes in January or February. In the process of applying a passport, we've discovered how hard it is to get Aidan's photo taken. None of the Australian Post would take photos for a baby and Col had to find a professional photographer to have Aidan's photo taken. Not to mention the vague questions in the application form. In the end, Col booked the photographer near his work to get the mug shot done. Aidan had to be held up while sitting on the swirly stool and photographed with a white background. While the photographer is figuring out his camera, we took some photos of our own.
